Triumph has thrown down the gauntlet. After years of dominating the street and adventure segments, the British manufacturer has entered the ultra-competitive 250 motocross arena with a machine that’s entirely their own. The TF 250-X isn’t just Triumph’s first motocross bike — it’s a complete, ground-up design developed in collaboration with some of the best minds in the sport. This is Triumph going all in.
At just 104kg wet weight, the TF 250-X delivers what Triumph calls a “class-leading power-to-weight ratio” — and that matters on the track. Light means agile. Light means responsive. Light means you can change direction mid-air and throw the bike into the next corner with confidence.
The bike comes equipped with launch control and dual engine maps straight from the factory, giving you the tools to tailor power delivery to track conditions. Whether you’re launching out of the gate or modulating throttle through a rutted section, the TF 250-X puts control in your hands.
This is where Triumph’s engineering pedigree shines through. The TF 250-X arrives with traction control, a quickshifter, and an Athena ECU engine management system — tech rarely seen as standard equipment in this class. The handlebar-mounted control switch keeps everything accessible without taking your focus off the track.
Premium components define the package: KYB AOS suspension front and rear with fully adjustable compression and rebound, Brembo brakes with Galfer discs, and Pirelli MX32 tyres on D.I.D DirtStar rims. The Exedy clutch uses Brembo hydraulic actuation for consistent feel lap after lap.
Purpose-built motocross geometry with a 1492mm wheelbase, 960mm seat height, and 310mm of front suspension travel gives the TF 250-X the stance of a serious race machine. Neken yokes and Pro Taper ACF carbon core bars with ODI lock-on grips provide the rider interface, while the compact 7-litre tank keeps weight centralized.
The overall package screams intent — this isn’t a recreational trail bike with race aspirations. It’s a pure motocross weapon.
The TF 250-X is aimed squarely at serious motocross riders who demand factory-level spec and aren’t willing to compromise. If you’re competitive in the 250 class or aspire to be, Triumph has delivered what they call “the most complete package” in the segment. It’s race-focused, fully featured, and backed by Triumph’s legendary engineering — a genuine contender from day one.
