Z900

Introducing the Evolution of the Legendary Supernaked

Our Official Bike Review

Kawasaki Z900 – Sugomi Refined

When Kawasaki introduced the Z900 in 2017, it joined a lineage of legendary 900cc-class machines that defined performance for generations. The 2026 Z900 continues that heritage with sharper styling, cutting-edge electronics, and chassis refinements that make this supernaked more thrilling—and more approachable—than ever before.

Performance with Purpose

At the heart of the Z900 is a 948cc liquid-cooled inline-four that delivers 92.2 kW at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 N·m of torque at 7,700 rpm. What makes this engine special isn’t just the raw numbers—it’s the character. The power delivery is silky smooth and incredibly manageable, building progressively as the revs climb. The new electronic throttle valves contribute to linear, confidence-inspiring acceleration that lets you carve corners with precision. Whether you’re threading through traffic or attacking a winding road, the Z900’s quick-revving nature and strong mid-range hit reward every twist of the throttle.

Rider-Focused Tech

The 2026 model brings a suite of IMU-equipped electronic systems that enhance control without getting in the way. Kawasaki’s KTRC traction control, enhanced ABS, and selectable power modes (Road, Sport, Rain, and customizable Rider mode) let you tailor the bike to your style. The dual-direction KQS quickshifter makes gear changes seamless, while electronic cruise control adds genuine long-distance comfort. The new 5-inch TFT display is larger, brighter, and packed with features—including smartphone connectivity through the RIDEOLOGY app that lets you adjust settings and receive notifications on the move.

Design: Aggression Meets Elegance

Kawasaki’s “Sugomi” design philosophy—sharp, edgy, and purposeful—is on full display here. The more aggressive front end features compact LED headlights surrounded by shadowy black plastic that gives the Z900 an intense, predatory look. Brushed aluminum side shrouds and plated metal accents throughout add premium touches, while the advanced LED taillight with light-guiding technology creates a futuristic 3D appearance. Every angle of this bike conveys the crouching stance and upswept tail that define the supernaked Z lineage.

Is It for You?

The 2026 Z900 strikes a sublime balance. It’s exhilarating enough to thrill experienced riders on spirited runs through the hills, yet approachable enough for those stepping up from smaller bikes. The lightweight trellis frame and revised suspension settings—paired with new Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires and radial-mount brake calipers—deliver agile handling with genuine confidence. At 212 kg and with an 830mm seat height, it’s manageable but not intimidating. If you want a versatile, technology-packed supernaked that’s equally at home carving canyons or commuting daily, the Z900 delivers on every front.
