Aprilia Tuareg 660 – The Middleweight Adventure Bike Done Right

Adventure riding shouldn’t require a heavy, intimidating machine that feels like a chore off-road. The Aprilia Tuareg 660 reimagines what a middleweight adventure bike can be—nimble, powerful enough for any situation, and genuinely capable both on tarmac and dirt. This is adventure with Italian flair, proving you don’t need a litre-plus engine to explore the world.

Performance with Purpose

The Tuareg’s 659cc parallel twin has been tuned specifically for adventure riding, producing 80 HP at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. These figures might seem modest compared to sportbikes, but they’re perfectly calibrated for adventure riding—delivering strong, usable power that’s manageable on loose surfaces while still providing excitement on tarmac. The broad, flat torque curve means you’re always in the meat of the powerband, whether you’re crawling over rocks or hustling down a highway.

The 18-liter fuel tank gives you impressive range for those long rides between fuel stops, while the slipper clutch eases both upshifts and downshifts when riding aggressively or navigating technical terrain.

Rider-Focused Tech

The Tuareg 660 comes equipped with four riding modes that adjust engine maps, engine brake, traction control, and ABS settings for different conditions. Cruise control makes highway miles easier, while the dual-channel ABS with three maps (including off-road modes that allow rear wheel lock-up) gives you the control you need in various terrain.

The 5-inch TFT display is clear and easy to read in all lighting conditions, providing all the information you need at a glance. With 240mm of fully adjustable travel at both ends from Kayaba suspension, the Tuareg soaks up everything from highway expansion joints to desert whoops.

Design: Aggression Meets Elegance

The Tuareg’s design is purposeful and distinctive—tall windscreen for wind protection, rally-inspired bodywork, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, and LED lighting throughout. The 860mm seat height is approachable for an adventure bike, while the upright ergonomics provide comfort for all-day riding. It looks ready for adventure because it is.

Is It for You?

The Tuareg 660 is ideal for riders who want an adventure bike that’s genuinely capable off-road without being cumbersome. At 204 kg wet, it’s light enough to pick up if you drop it and manageable in technical terrain. Whether you’re commuting during the week or exploring fire roads on the weekend, the Tuareg delivers versatility without compromise.
